Beautiful, great city. Also a great place to start if it’s your first time to Mexico I felt, especially since it is the safest city in all of Mexico and is a peaceful place and a good place to start from to explore other parts of Yucatán.
I think it is also worth mentioning the cenotes of Homún when mentioning Cuzama, it’s right next to Cuzama and has a lot of cenotes around it- I went to four of them but there are several more- and it was also the place a few locals recommended me for cenotes.
I also chose Uxmal instead of other ruins in the end, and I felt it was a great choice- really few people for those who want to avoid way too big crowds of tourists! Entrance fee was a bit expensive, but beautiful ruins really worth a visit in my opinion.
The most famous and popular beach near Mérida is Progreso, but after a few recommendation from locals again, I and one other person from the hostel went to a place called Sisal which was really peaceful.
That’s about what I can add to this I guess. Great place anyway.
