This is a great travel guide for all those who visit Croatia for the first time and all places you mentioned are very worth to be seen and experienced.
However, for the absolute budget traveler places like Hvar or Dubrovnik should be better skipped and instead replaced with affordable destinations in Croatia’s North (Istria) or for those that enjoy city trips less crowded cities like Šibenik.
During our roadtrip along Croatia’s coast we stumbled upon quite some uncovered places 100% suitable for the budget traveler.

Next time explore Mrzla Vodica or the ghost town Obrovac and you’ll see another side of Croatia! 🙂

In reply to Holly. Hey Holly. I'm happy to answer any questions you might have later! Sounds like you fared better with staying down-deck, in my case they'd often have the engines on in the very early morning so I got very little sleep! I guess it depends on the route and the captain :)

Hi, I’ve just found your blog while I was researching a Central America trip. You’re my new “blogspiration”! I’m starting one myself, more to keep track of all my little journeys so I can keep family up to date and give info when friends ask.
No doubt I’ll be asking you some questions about South America soon!
Ps when I did a sail Croatia years ago I had a cheap downstairs cabin and it was quiet as can be, they usually steamed during the day when I was sunbaking up top!

I’m wondering if you have visited the northeast of Croatia (the east of Zagreb)? That’s the least visited part of Croatia!
